“The Class of 2027 continues the College’s strong distinction as the most racially and ethnically diverse Catholic College in New England,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Brian Fernandes.  “Admission was competitive with about 2,400 applications for the first-year and transfer seats – a 57% increase over last year.  These new students will add to an already vibrant and engaging student life community, especially with the addition of our new Women’s Ice Hockey team.”

Approximately 76% of this class is coming from Connecticut, about 8% are international students representing Canada, China, Colombia, South Africa, and Sweden; and several of the newest Fearless Falcons hail from New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island and even as far away as Arizona.  The class includes high achievers, with roughly 23% having earned invitations to the College’s Honors Program and about 89% receiving $15,000 or more in merit scholarships.  Of the incoming class, in the neighborhood of 52% are receiving Federal Pell Grants and over 50% are first generation students.  Fifty-two-percent will participate in NCAA Division III athletic programs.  Albertus Magnus College’s continued commitment to equity and diversity is reflected in the class consisting of approximately 51% students of color.

Move-in will be followed by a robust schedule of orientation events and activities – including a class photo on the steps on Rosary Hall at 3:30 pm. Classes for traditional undergraduates begin August 28. For more information, go to www.albertus.edu.
