My life in the classroom is very special to me. For me, teaching has been a dynamic exchange between my students and myself. Robert Frost once said, "I talk in order to understand; I teach in order to learn." Every day in the classroom, I learn something from my students--something about the world, about life, and about myself. I hope that I, in return, teach them something about literature but, more importantly, I hope I teach them something about themselves. This open dialogue is the foundation of a liberal arts education.
