Art Therapy

Develop a rich and varied background in art techniques, history and media as you explore the therapeutic tools of psychology and learn to integrate the creative process to facilitate healing in this concentration which can lead to employment and to graduate studies in Art Therapy such as AMC’s Master of Arts in Art Therapy (MAAT).

Graphic Design

Pursue your interest in visual communications through courses in digital art, two-dimensional design, photography, designing for print and Web and techniques that emphasize effective design. Gain practical skills with internships at local and regional agencies and businesses.

History of Art

Prepare for graduate studies or a career in scholarly research, teaching, museum studies, museum education, curatorship, arts management or related fields with preparation that emphasizes written and oral communication, critical thinking and aesthetic expertise grounded in AMC’s liberal arts tradition.


Enhance your love of photography as a fine art through the study of drawing, painting, design, color, digital art, black-and-white imaging, digital photography and photojournalism as you prepare to pursue graduate studies or a rewarding career in a range of professional fields.

Studio Art

Develop your personal artistic style and forms of expression through small and interactive classes that encourage individual excellence and cooperative exchange of ideas. In preparation for your career as an artist, you’ll create a one-person exhibition to be displayed in AMC’s MacDonough Gallery.
