Overview
  • The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the sports medicine program for the College, including prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment, and rehabilitation. 
  • Assist in the daily management of the athletic training room.
  • Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice.
  • Work in conjunction with the other athletic trainers and team physicians
  • Make referrals to necessary sources as needed. 
  • Apply appropriate protective padding, taping, etc., when necessary. 
  • Provide athletic training services for the College varsity sports: practices and home contests. 
  • Keep accurate records and documentation of all medical history forms, athletic injury forms, concussion forms, and rehabilitation progress notes. 
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (lifting, standing, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred. 
  • BOC certification required
  • Be eligible or licensed in the state of Connecticut and maintain current CPR/AED certification
Education Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; master’s degree preferred.
Special Work Schedule Requirements Evening and some weekend hours required.
