Albertus Falcons Have a New Home for Baseball

The Albertus Magnus College athletic department held a special Opening Day Ceremony at the newly renovated Rochford Field in nearby Hamden on Wednesday, March 23, prior to the Falcon baseball team's home opener against Elms College.

"Albertus Magnus is excited about introducing college baseball to the neighborhood," Director of Athletics Jim Abromaitis said. "Throughout this entire process, we appreciate the hard work and cooperation with the town of Hamden that got us here."

During the ceremony, Hamden Director of Economic and Community Development Dale Kroop and Albertus Magnus College trustee Mr. Raymond Peach threw out the first pitches. Several people who were instrumental in bringing the town of Hamden and Albertus Magnus College together also spoke, including Mr. Kroop, Mr. Peach and Hamden Director of Arts, Recreation and Culture Mimsi Coleman.

College trustees, faculty, students, staff, alumni, family and friends filled the stands to celebrate the Falcon’s new home.
