For the first-time ever in program history, the AlbertusMagnus men's basketball team has been ranked in theD3hoops.com Top-25 Poll asannounced Monday evening. The Falcons break into the top-25 in the 24thspot after receiving votes in the previous two weekly polls.
Albertus is 20-1 on the year after their 15th-straightvictory on Saturday over Emmanuel College. That league win also puts theFalcons at the top of the conference standings with a perfect 14-0 record.
With their 20th win of the season, the Falconshave put themselves into a position to break the program's single-season recordin wins. With four regular season games left on the schedule, and a postseasonappearance already clinched, the Falcons need just three more wins to tie theprogram record of 23 victories, which was accomplished in 2009-10.
Next up for the Falcons will be Trinity College on Tuesdaynight, as Albertus heads north to Hartford for its final non-conference match-upin regular season play. That contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
In this week's poll, Hope College moved into the top spot forthe first time since March 2008. The Flying Dutchmen are 20-1 overall, withtheir only loss to Division I Western Michigan.
