Friday, Nov. 16 was the first day of the National Prep Showcase as it brought a capacity crowd and over 50 Division I College coaches. St. Thomas More defeated Fork Union Military Academy 71-56, while Hargrave Military Academy downed Notre Dame Prep 89-79 in the first two games of the tournament.
In the third game of the day, La Jolla edged Bridgton Academy 69-62 before Fishburne Military snuck by Northfield Mount Hermon 64-59 in another close match-up.
The CMM Athletic Center was crowded once again as seven games went on during the course of the day on Saturday, Nov. 17. Bridgton Academy began the day with a 57-52 win over Fork Union before St. Thomas More downed Fishburne Military 85-76. Massanutten Military Academy defeated Notre Dame Prep 85-76 before New Hampton edged Hargrave 74-73 in another nail-biter contest.
Lee Academy defeated St. Johnís NW Military 73-65 later in the day before Kiski edged Brewster 79-77 in a surprising upset. In the final game of the day, South Kent battled Vermont Academy to a 96-90 overtime victory.
On the final day of the tournament on Sunday, there were five contests. Brewster began the day with a 78-63 victory over St. Johnís NW Military before New Hampton cruised to an 82-62 win over Lee Academy. Northfield Mount Hermon downed La Jolla 102-85 in the next match-up before Kiski defeated Tilton 94-86. Wilbraham & Monson then defeated Blair Academy 60-47.
Albertus Magnus will host the National Prep Championship in March. The specific date and time have yet to be determined.
