Admission Process
For admission into the program the applicant must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum G.P.A. of a 3.0 on a 4.0 system.
The following must be submitted to have an application for admission evaluated:
Students who lack some of the above requirements may be admitted to the program on a provisional basis. Provisionally admitted students will be required to earn a 3.0 cumulative grade point average in 9 credits before being fully admitted to the program.
Albertus Magnus College utilizes a rolling admissions system; therefore, students may apply throughout the year. Students may begin the program at the beginning of the Fall or Spring semester, which provides two starting points during the year. All new student applications must be complete and submitted to the Director no later than two weeks prior to the start of a semester. If an application is received after this timeframe, the new student will be considered for the next scheduled semester.

Transfer Credits
Albertus .Magnus College may accept a maximum of 6 graduate hours from an accredited institution toward satisfying the MFA Program degree requirements. Such credits must have been completed prior to entrance into the program and must satisfy degree requirements. Transfer credits must have been completed with a grade of B (3.0) or better within the last five years at a regionally accredited institution. Transfer credits will be considered on an individual basis. Students must submit an official transcript showing proof of completion of the course(s) to be transferred. All requests to transfer credits must be completed prior to starting the program
