On
Campus Facilities:
Celentano
Soccer Field -- Celentano Field, home to
the Falcons, opened in 1990 and boasts one of the
most beautiful settings to play a soccer match
in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The
Falcons enjoy a great home-field advantage on Celentano. Celentano
Field is surrounded by a cinder track on which
both our men's and women's cross-country squads
practice. Celentano
Field sits atop "The Hill" and runs along
Prospect Street. There are great views of
West Rock from the field which makes for a great
setting during the fall season. Celentano
Field is nestled right among the Campus' beautiful
mansions. Celentano
Soccer Field and Celentano Tennis Courts host the
Annual Fall Festival held every October to celebrate
our current students, alumni and their families.
Celentano
Tennis Courts -- The Celentano Tennis Courts
are located on the corner of Prospect and Huntington
Streets, right within the walls of the campus. The Celentano
Tennis Courts are home to both the women's
and men's tennis programs. These
four all-weather courts sit right to the side
of Celentano Soccer Field directly in front of
Rosary Hall. Like the soccer field, the tennis
courts are located among the College's beautiful
mansions and are one of the best settings in the
GNAC for a home tennis match.
The
Nest -- Our basketball court has become
affectionately known as "The Nest" by
the student body. In Summer
2006, a
brand new court was laid
down, and it is adorned with our
mascot, the Falcon, at mid-court. "The
Nest" is notoriously known throughout the
GNAC as one of the toughest environments to play
in. With a seating capacity of over 700, "The
Nest" is consistently packed with "Falcon
Fanatics" as attendance has increased dramatically
over the years. The student section, located
just feet from the court, may be one of the loudest,
if not the loudest, in the GNAC. During
the cold winter months "The Nest" keeps
the students from going stir crazy in their dorms
as they come out to cheer on the both the Falcons
and Lady Falcons.
