The Award Process
Financial Aid
awards are generally based on student need.
Recipients
of Financial Aid are notified on an on-going basis
from February to July. All Financial Aid
is tentative,
based upon the actual federal, state, and institutional
funds received by the institution each academic
year.
Awards
for an academic year are credited to the student's
account at the Business Office on a per semester
basis with the exception of Community Service or
Work-Study, which must be earned by the student.
Work-Study earnings cannot be directly credited
to a student's account.
Determining Financial
Need
Financial
need exists when the sum of expected contributions
from parental and student resources is less than
the estimated cost of attending Albertus for an
academic year. Analysis of the
Free Application for Federal Student Assistance (FAFSA) takes
into account family income, assets, number of
dependents,
number of family members in college, and employment
of both spouses. This analysis is used by Albertus
as a guide in determining and awarding Financial
Aid.
FAFSA forms may be
obtained from high school guidance counselors, from
the Albertus Financial Aid Office, or online
at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Students seeking Financial Aid should file
the FAFSA when they submit their application for admission
to Albertus Magnus College.
