Applicants Under Chapter 30, MGIB
- New applicants complete VA Form 22-1990, Application
for Education Benefits
- Transfer students complete VA Form 22-1995, Application
for Change of Place of Training
- Submit copy of DD 214
Applicants Under Chapter 31, Vocational Rehab
- VA Form 28-1905, Authorization and Entrance into
Rehabilitation
- Submit copy of DD-214
Applicants Under Chapter 35, Dependents & Survivors
- VA Form 22-5490, Application for Dependents Education
Assistance
- Copy of Birth Certificate (for dependent children)
- Copy of Marriage Certificate (spouse/surviving
spouse applicant)
- Transfer students complete VA Form 22-5495, Dependents
Change of Program/Place of Training
Applicants Under Chapter 1606 (Reserves)
- New applicants complete VA Form 22-1990, Application
for Educational Benefits
- Transfer students complete VA Form 22-1995, Change of Program/Place of Training
- Submit form DD 2384, (NOBE) Notice of Basic Eligibility
Certification Process
We certify three times a year, the end of August, December, and April.
Changes in your academic program or status
must be reported to the certifying official
within 7 days.
Changes in your status and /or program include:
- Adding or Dropping a class
- Withdraw or Leave of Absence
- Associate Degree to Bachelor Degree
- Bachelor Degree to Master Degree
Remember it is your responsibility to report these changes
to avoid an overpayment. If you are a Ch. 30 or Ch. 1606 veteran
you must self-certify your enrollment monthly with
the VA through their online WAVE program.
Payment
Information about qualifying pay rates and payment dates for Chapters
30, 31, 35, and 1606 are available only through direct
contact between the student and the Department of
Veterans Affairs.
