The Insight Program -
The College's General Education Program

Through the Insight Program, you will develop the core competencies critical to ongoing understanding of yourself and the world. You will learn how to engage the insights of others so that you can flourish as a human being who can lead a life that is personally and professionally fulfilling and socially responsible.

The Insight Program, required of all students in the Day Program who obtain an undergraduate degree in any major, seeks to help each student realize their full human potential by inviting students to:

  • Deepen their capacities for appreciation, interpretation, and criticism of works of art and the written word
  • Cultivate the practices of effective written and oral communication
  • Enhance their critical and creative thinking
  • Grasp the methods of scientific, quantitative, mathematical and philosophical reasoning
  • Become reflective moral agents who can formulate and effectively address ethical questions
  • Appreciate perspectives different from one's own
  • Acquire the ability to engage in responsive dialogue within a global context
