Computer Information Systems
Computer Information Systems (CIS) majors at Albertus Magnus College benefit from small classes and individualized attention while learning on state-of-the art equipment. Out focus is on developing graduates with both computer-specific and broad ranging skills to prepare them for successful careers and productive lives.
The CIS major provides both theoretical knowledge and the practical skills needed in an information technology career in a corporation, a government organization or an educational institution. Students also learn the basics of management, statistics, business communications, marketing and economics.
Computer information system occupations requiring a college degree are taking the top position for job and salary growth.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics states that five of the twelve fastest growing occupations in the United States through 2014 will be computer systems occupations.
Organizations of all sizes need CIS majors for many positions, including the following:
- Website developer
- Computer security specialist
- Network administrator
- Computer support analyst
- Application developer
- System analyst
- Database designer
